Blogger Survival Guide - 5 Tips to Survive the Blogging World

The blogging world is a big, big place. In a way the internet is like a jungle. You start out by hacking your way through, one blog post at a time until you hit your own barrier. I am not saying all of you are like that, but most are. To survive, eat, drink and make money on the internet you need to know the five golden survival tips to Blogging.

First of all think like a tiger, they embody the jungle, they map there kills, track them, evaluate them and they plan there blog so to speak. They build it to conquer. Same goes with blogging and being a blogger one must tune oneself with the right know how and character to build what one wants.

It's not so much about whacking up a blog no more and adding some content, there is more to it than that. That's where this hub comes in.

Below are 5 Survival Tips to Blogging

1. ) Step one of Blogging Survival is finding your Niche - Find a niche that gets traffic as well as something you enjoy writing about. I know it is easy to do something similar to another blogger, but trust me finding a unique niche works better. Always check via a tool suck as keyword spy to make sure others are looking for that niche keyword.

2. ) In step two of blogging survival write at least 20 to 30 good posts all related to your niche and your main keywords. Make the titles and content based around keywords people search on. Make each at least 600 to 1000 words each. Yes more content is better these days. And I also recommend using images, this keeps people on your page for longer and reduces bounce rate.

3. ) In step 3 get as many Back links for these starter posts and homepage as possible from Directories, Hubs, Squidoo Lenses, Forums and blog commenting. To be a great survivor one must adapt and get support from many, back links is that support online for our content. It tells the search engines these pages should be indexed. Thus creating targeted search engine traffic.

4. ) In step 4, convert your audience. This is done by adding related affiliate programs to your niche. The more related the better. Some good examples are Infolinks, Google AdSense, Bidvertiser, CPA ads, ClickBank and many more. Once you start getting traffic and converting visitors that come to your blog into sales, this is the fuel to keep YOU motivated.

Each time you receive a sale it will really help you keep blogging. This is a blogger's fuel in a way.

5. ) In step 5 of survival it is all about diversifying. What i mean by this is look at other options of adaption to your jungle blogging environment. To adapt fully, use a list building technique or something similar to hold your audience on your website. That way when people leave your blog you have a better chance of them coming back.

After step 5, take a breather and then go back and repeat.

This guide is a funny way of looking at blogging and comparing it to jungle survival. What inspired me to write it is from watching too many episodes of Bear Grills and Survivor Man on TV while trying to blog late at night.

Why I Prefer Blogs

Blog is one of the latest phenomena to have taken the sphere of internet in its stride. One can perform several functions with the aid of a blog. Through this kind of online publication, one can share one's thought with the rest of the world. Blog can be created in a group or it can also be created by individual. There you can get provision to comment on the content or have a direct conversation with the author or the creator. Another interesting purpose of the blog is that it helps to grow up a communication in any field of business.

The aspect of business through blog mentioned above is the most important reason for the popularity of blogs. People use blogs to sale several products online. Although this is not a place for direct selling of products, you can use a blog as a marketing platform for your product. This is an informal advertising of your product to reach to the rest of the world. Other than that, you can hire a place on other's blogs to advertise your product. Not only that, the most charming part of creating a blog is that you can earn money by creating a popular blog without any effort - just by selling your words.

Blogs, therefore, are all about words. If you are careful enough about your words, you can make a popular blog any time. Only you have to be conscious about certain points such as readability, key words, consistency, etc. Here, in brief, you cannot mess up your blog with many points. There should be charming key words in your blog that can attract people. Again, the term 'charming' does not refer to complexity, but the keyword should be as simple as it can be. That should be popular as well as interesting. It has to be related to the content of your blog.

Again, you can even sell materials through your blog and you can earn a good deal of money. If you have interesting photographs or pictures in your blog, you can sell them. Not just this, you can also invite people to advertise their products in your blog. You can earn money by offering your blogs to the pay-per-click sites as well. Here, you will display their advertisements on your blog and you will get an amount of money if any of the visitors of your blog clicks on it. Other than that, there are sites or dealers who pay you per lead. In this case, you will get money if any of the products is sold by clicking on the advertisement from your blog.

These are the economic parts of a blog. However, blogs are also created for entertainment, art, sports, travel or on any topic of the world. You can explore a whole new world, along with the thought of many people, by exploring the huge world of blogs. This is a wonderful chance to create, share, and publish your individual thought for the whole world. Let us explore the fun. Let the world get a shade of your creativity.

How Blogging Benefits You As An Author

As a writer planning to blog, your first decision is whether you want to write about the topic covered in your most recent book or about the process of writing and publishing a book. Or possibly both. Both are subjects you should know well.

The option is yours. You can always mount two blogs. Or better yet, combine the two subjects in a single blog. Either way, you must be certain that you have the time to keep them updated. That's crucial. A blog requires continuous fresh information or commentary to keep readers coming back. Allow your blog to become stale, and you will see a speedy exodus of visitors.

You certainly don't have to feel restricted to the two subjects I mentioned above. I picked them because you're a writer, but you have the option to select any topic you wish to concentrate on. However, that topic should in some way relate back to your book. After-all, your reason for embarking on this blogging gig was to hype and sell your book.

Content Rules

The prime consideration as you sit down to plan each edition is to remember that this site is not an advertisement for your book. Not even an advertorial. To be effective, a blog must offer solid content. It is an informational resource; not a promotional vehicle to sell your book or boost your vanity. The days of mental meanderings about personal issues that characterized the early stage of the blogosphere just won't cut it any longer. Leave those messages to Twitter.

The ideal blog serves as a treasure chest of information on a subject the reader wants or needs. Consequently, it is imperative to keep it updated with fresh material on a regular basis. I suggest that updates be made at least every week and more frequently if possible. Archiving earlier issues is important too. This gives your visitors the opportunity to research back to find the information they need which may be contained in a previous blog that you posted.

Starting Your Blog

There's little risk to developing your own blog. If money is a concern, you can find free sites on the Internet to assist you in building it. If you are unsure whether or not you can sustain a blog with its demanding updates, create a chart of 25 or so subtopics that you can write about within the overall subject to which you plan to dedicate your blog. That will assure you of substance for at least 25 weeks of posting as you get into the swing of blogging on a regular basis.

By entering "Creating a blog" in your favorite search engine, you'll find an assortment of free design sites that will lead you step-by-step through the process. One of the most popular is www.blogger.com, a product of Google, but you will find others as well. For those who want a more sophisticated blog with a design that is unique to them, most website designers also prepare customized blogs. Search the Internet for them, and check out their galleries of websites to find the best.

The designer's function is to create the shell into which you can easily drop copy whenever you prepare a new post. The prices range widely. They are based on the designer's experience and expertise.

Your Blog Is Your Signature

A visit to your blog is the closest contact most readers will ever have with you. They will judge you and your work by the quality of the blog. A well executed blog will boost sales of your book and contribute to building your reputation as an expert in the field you choose to write about.

Two major factors will form each blog visitor's opinion. The overall impression of the site-its cleanliness, neatness, excitement-will tell the reader a great deal about you. The quality of the content you place on the blog will bring him/her back again and again and will serve as an invitation to read articles you write, visit your website and perhaps buy your book.

Taking Full Advantage of the Blogosphere

Using the blogging world to your greatest advantage includes reaching out beyond your own site and placing material on the sites of other popular bloggers. This can be done by either posting comments to the content on the other blog or by actually offering content to a fellow blogger.

You have a distinct advantage in placing your copy elsewhere because bloggers function as a close-knit community and are usually quite welcoming of submissions by fellow bloggers. This is a carry-over from the early days of blogging. As a newcomer to the communications world, blogging was disparaged by other journalists and looked upon as an amateurish, often narcissistic form of writing. That has changed dramatically today, but the sense of camaraderie between bloggers remains strong.

Stick to a Schedule

It is essential to stick strictly to a regular schedule of posting, as I stated above. This doesn't mean you suddenly have to devote your life to blogging. If you devote 10 to 12 hours a week to creating your own posts and supplementing them with comments on other blogs, you can enjoy a great deal of success and build a sizeable following. You'll gain great satisfaction and have a good deal of fun as well. So join the thousands upon thousands of your fellow writers who have discovered this marvelous tool for harnessing the promotional power of the Internet.

Internet Blogs Friend Or Foe?

Hello all! Today we discuss internet blogs. Over the past 2 to 3 years internet blogs have ventured into a whole array of companies. It seems that everyone is trying to get one. Though the question should really be are they really helping and what can they do for a company? Today we are going to discuss both personal and business blogs.

Blogs in general are simply diaries or logs of daily or moment to moment activity, quite simply a journal of sorts. Although lately blogs have become a great way to share your opinion or simply share knowledge with others, in personal or social life as well as in a business environment. It has become a way to have fun, feel close, or even become reachable in all sorts of situations.

Business Blogs have become a way for customers and employees to share knowledge among them as well as make the visit seem more personable. The event is then recorded as if in a journal or guest book. How helpful is that! Well just as there are satisfied customers; there are always unsatisfied ones as well. You know the one neighbor who's never happy no matter what you do? We will also discuss their opinions of blogs and reasons for their choices.

Personal Blogs:

Personal blogs are everywhere; they give people a place to share life long events. They give people a place to express their creative sides and talents; most of all they give people a place to meet people. With the hustle and bustle of today's hard working society many people simply don't have the time to meet and make new friend, contacts, or acquaintances Though we still long for stimulating conversation we rarely find it. In personal Blogs people have the chance to share the things with everyday people they would normally share with friends. Like posting vacation photos, stories they heard that day, even just a funny joke someone told at work. People share their opinions on current world events, to even house and garden issues.

Personal Blogs can be created for free and some even custom designed (For a small fee that is). They have different templates and different formats something to satisfy everyone. The fee ranges from $2.99 and up and can be paid monthly or yearly; Depending on the person's preference.

In 1997 the term weblog became known and in 1999 the term blog was created. In 1999 there were only 100 web diaries and in 2005 there was a remarkable 50,000,000 started; long way from were they started, don't you think?

Business Blogs:

In the business world as well as the personal world; blogging became a way to share information fast. The short inserts published were able to reach readers across the globe with the click of the mouse.

Everyone was blogging from political parties to small business. Many people saw blogging as a way to express their views on the war in Iraq as well as other political matters that were troubling them. Blogs became a new informant for media coverage as well as other topics like celebrity news.

Blogging stomped the competition when it came to society listening to the news man or the next blog. The business world found new ways to advertise and draw others to their company. Many of them developed there own blogging service to compete with the new competition.

Now thousands of companies have some form of blogging inquired into there company and blogging changed the way many people look at communication. Bloggin gives businesses a way to communicate straight to the consumer, to find out what people want and the things that people don't want also. If gives their customers a way to talk to the company and voice their opinion on how things are going and what they think; After all a good business care about the consumer and their opinions good or BAD.

Bloggin also gives small companies a way to expand; to reach millions and millions of consumers everyday. What could be better then that! After all isn't that the main objective of all companies. To reach the largest base of people they can, in the most convenient way to the business as well as the consumer?

Cons Of Blogging:

Well to be honest there are a few rotten apples in the bushel, but aren't there always? Some people of course are not happy with the way technology is changing lives and that's ok, that's their opinion. Usually those who aren't happy with it don't blog.

Some people feel that it causes social trouble sometimes. (The story of our lives)No matter were you are you see some of that.

Blogging has reached the lives of many in all age groups, in all classes of people and in most countries. It has changed us as a society in many ways and overall millions use it everyday. It opens up communication and advertising to everyone rich and poor; young and old.

In an interview a child of 11 described blogging and said

"Blogs tend to cause social trouble at times, but over all they're mostly just to communicate and to just learn about one another. I'd say that blogs either business related or not, are a lot of fun".

So if you need help with your companies expansion or just need to find a friend blogging is the way to go.
